Preview, Illinois State’s summer orientation and registration program for new freshmen, is in full swing!

While attending Preview, students will have the opportunity to meet with their academic advisor, register for classes, meet current Illinois State students and their future classmates, interact with faculty and staff from various academic departments, and receive their Redbird ID card.

In addition, students will have the chance to discover the various opportunities provided at Illinois State including involvement in student organizations, volunteer opportunities, support services, and many other aspects of being a Redbird.

Illinois State University invited Latino alumni to a reception at the Tamale Hut Café to help gauge interest in forming an official Latino Alumni Network. The evening was hosted by former Trustee Jaime Flores and Alumni Board Members Bob Navarro and Daniel Lopez Jr.

Senator Dick Durbin visited campus Thurs., May 29, 2014 to push a new bill that would make it easier for college grads to pay back their loans, even as he touted Illinois State’s “spectacular” track record on student debt.

Joining Durbin at Thursday’s event were Illinois State President Larry Dietz and two recent alumni who voiced support for the bill, which would allow student loan holders to refinance their debt at lower interest rates.

Illinois State MBA student Aniruddha Godbole wanted to solve a simple problem: How could he watch movies and scroll through Facebook on his smartphone without having to hold it in his hands and crane his neck?

Godbole pitched an idea for a smartphone stand that you could carry in your pocket earlier this semester in his New Product Design and Development class. Three months later, Godbole and a team of colleagues have created an alpha prototype of the stand.
